It finally came: GreenEdge was waiting for its first victory in Europe. Like every team but more because a new brand team is eager to demonstrade its value. There is one of my favourites here, maybe my best favourite after Andy Schleck, Cameron Meyer. "That was awesome." he tweeted "
wins Tirenno Adriatico TTT. We rode smooth and fast. Very happy to be a
part of our first European win". He is very focused on the Olympics
Games this year and on the track but it's always nice to watch him
riding. Quite nice also to watch GreenEdge series on YouTube "Bike
riders can't cook": check it if you didn't yet. That's a good
demonstration of what Nygaard meant tweeting about his 'having fun' in
the new team.
RSNT was second and probably the TTT took a smaller effort to those riders than to their LT collegues last year in Marina di Carrara: the new team is definitely stronger against the clock and this result puts Bennati in a good position at the start of a race he could hardly win but dominate yes in the first fast stages. It will be decided atop some nasty climbs so Horner will take the lead in the Adriatico side.
