1 Alberto Contador (Spa) Tinkoff-Saxo 60:01:34
2 Fabio Aru (Ita) Astana Pro Team 0:02:35
3 Andrey Amador (CRc) Movistar Team 0:04:19
4 Mikel Landa Meana (Spa) Astana Pro Team 0:04:46
5 Leopold Konig (Cze) Team Sky 0:06:36
6 Yury Trofimov (Rus) Team Katusha 0:06:58
7 Damiano Caruso (Ita) BMC Racing Team 0:07:10
In my opinion Alberto Contador has already won. And Aru must be careful to keep that 2nd place. The fight for 3rd is going to be hard and I'd like to see Leo Konig up there. (Obviously).
1 Elia Viviani (Ita) Team Sky 119 pts
2 Giacomo Nizzolo (Ita) TrekRacing 119
Probably it's going to be decided in Milano: exciting! Viviani and Nizzolo are both riders I like and the Red Jersey would be an important achievement both for Team Sky and for TFR. Che vinca il migliore!
1 Benat Intxausti (Spa) Movistar Team 85 pts
2 Mikel Landa Meana (Spa) Astana Pro Team 54
3 Simon Geschke (Ger) Team Giant-Alpecin 53
4 Steven Kruijswijk (Ned) Team LottoNL-Jumbo 53
5 Carlos Betancur (Col) AG2R La Mondiale 53
6 Giovanni Visconti (Ita) Movistar Team 51
The fight is still open but Intxausti looks the most probable winner.
Young rider classification
1 Fabio Aru (Ita) Astana Pro Team 60:04:09
2 Davide Formolo (Ita) Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team 0:14:31
3 Fabio Felline (Ita) TrekRacing 1:07:49
I'd prefer Formolo but it's going to be Aru. With or without the Pink one.
1 Alberto Contador (Spa) Tinkoff-Saxo 28 pts
2 Nicola Boem (Ita) Bardiani CSF 27
3 Steven Kruijswijk (Ned) Team LottoNL-Jumbo 24

TOPICS OF THE WEEK
1. Is Richie Porte a pussy?
I don't think so.
He said: “The Giro has been my main goal this year and I’ve worked incredibly hard all season with this race in mind. I’ve had a lot of back luck this week with the puncture and the time penalty, but it was the crash on Friday that has taken its toll. I fell heavily on my knee and hip which caused me a lot of pain on Saturday’s time trail and yesterday’s stage. I just wanted to keep trying and give it everything but now the medical team have advised me not to continue. I'm gutted it’s ended this way and that I can’t stay and support Leo, Elia and the team in the last week. They’ve been outstanding every step of the way and to not be able to repay that is tough. The plan for me now is to take some time off the bike, get the medical treatment that I need and reset my goals for the rest of the season and come back fighting. Hopefully I can get myself ready for the Tour team.”
He had A LOT of bad luck and I don't see what he did wrong: he had a puncture just out the 3 km to go and a friend gave him his wheel against the rules while his mates were almost there to help him, he met a very strict jury, he crashed and he injuried his knee. I know that Contador uses to ride km on a broken tybia and climbs like a god with a twice dislocated shoulder... but normal people feel pain. Porte endured it till the rest day, then together with Team Sky staff he decided to stop. Normal. Remember that Porte's season has already been a success with Nationals and Paris Nice.
2. What's wrong with Rigoberto Uran?
Bronchitis. That's all. He was better to NOT start or stop immediately. Racing when you are sick should be forbiden.
3. Is Contador too early isolated in the mountains?
Yes he is. Still it doesn't seem a problem for him.
4. What about Steven Kruijswijk?
He's simply great! I hope he'll get the Combactivity Award.
5. What about Mikel Landa?
I don't know if he's clean but for sure he's stronger than Fabio Aru so he should be the team leader in the last week. But probably a win by Fabio Aru is more popular. PR count.
6. What's about Leo Konig?
He's doing great: last minute hero, a podium spot is on reach.
7. Dopers anybody?
MAH! Madonna di Campiglio - Pantani's ghost floating around - left me... ehm... 'surprised': everybody is on the limit and THE WHOLE ALSTANA is fresh and pulling at the front. But also: CONTADOR ISOLATED is fresher than Aru who was on the wheels. MAH!
