TdF 17: Aiming High

Adventure comes to the end for me on this Tour de France, I'm in Visp traveling back to Italy. I lived an intense day from the start in Bern to the finish by the dam in Emosson. I had the chance to see again from very close the pro cycling world.
At the start Alejandro Valverde was at the barrier next to me and asked about Quintana winning the race said: "It's hard". I called Mikel Nieve and he smiled back probably puzzled. I said hi to Danny, the Trek bus driver, and we agreed Bauke Mollema could keep his GC 2nd but it would cost a big effort and attacking to better it was probably beyond his reach.
The travel from Bern to Emosson included a train, a small Mont Blanc Express and La vertical: the steepest cableway in the world. We assisted to Ilnur Zakarin's solo victory from a privileged spot.

Chris Froome increased his advantage in spite Richie Porte tried to attack. Nairo Quintana sank. Adam Yates was classy. Danny and me proved right: Mollema could stay with Froome but so far kept his 2nd.
After a quick visit to the buses we faced a long way down.
Our nigh in Martigny wasn't as confortable as expected still we slept because we were exhausted.
Much more to come including stunning pictures!
