Procycling: De Panne 1

Three days of De Panne kicks off. 7 riders were in lead - Dunne, Brice Feillu, De Ketele, Yechezkel, Duquennoy, Skjerping and Matthias Vandewalle - but approaching the first climbs (Edelare, Leberg and Berendries) only 5 are still away: De Ketele, Dunne, Skjerping, Feillu and Duquennoy. 64 km to go their advantage is only29''.
62 km to go three riders crash in a fence. A Rusvelo's looks bad...
There is a large chasing group (15) with interesting riders like Gilbert, Devenyns, Durbridge, De Buyst, Brändle, Van Poppel and Haller.
44 km to go, passing on the finish line, the peloton is almost 3' behind the break-away, that has got a 30'' on the first chasing group.
Group 1 and 2 merged. On the Berendries Panckart gets off group 3 and tries to bridge solo to group 2.
Ten Bosse. 28 km to go.
A group with Pozzato, Kristoff, Cannola is getting close to the head of the race.
The Muur: 15 km to go Gilbert attacks and goes solo. The front group explodes.
Durbridge follows, he's just 5'' from Gilbert. But he can't join and the gap grows: 10 km to go it's up to 12''.
Klemhoudstraat: Gilbert keeps increasing his advantage. 3 riders are chasing behind Durbridge: De Buyst, Consonni and Brandle.
2 km to go Gilbert has 20'' on Durbridge and  36'' on the three riders.
Gilbert wins solo. 2nd solo is Durbridge. Consonni wins the sprint in the chasing group.

Philippe Gilbert:
“To finally get a victory in this beautiful jersey, and for Quick-Step Floors, makes me very happy! I want to thank to my team, and especially to Dries, whose hard-work at the front was quintessential. Now I’m at the top of the overall standings, but I know it won’t be easy to defend my position, so we’ll just take it day by day.
I know that people will now say that I’m one of the favourites for De Ronde and it’s no secret that I would like to win it. My condition is good, I look forward to the race, but to be
frank, the most important thing is for the team to win there. We have many options and in-form riders, and it will be all about playing the right card in the right moment.”
